PhD / Early Stage Researcher (ESR) position
DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION:
PhD position 1 (MTN-1): Cognitive terminal-tracking and transmission profile selection schemes with partial information of the network topology (WP1 & WP4).
The work of the ESR will be concerned with:
· Project Title and Related WPs: Cognitive terminal-tracking and transmission profile selection schemes with partial information of the network topology (WP1 & WP4).
· Objectives:
· Study SotA techniques for distance and angle of arrival estimation
· develop novel terminal tracking techniques based on MIMO beamforming
· design semi-autonomous transmission profile selection strategies that exploit location information, and
· optimize the proposed solutions in the context of popular content placement and delivery
·
Candidates must also meet the following criteria:
1. be in the first four years (full-time equivalent research experience) of their research careers;
2. be of any nationality, but not having resided or carried out their main activity in Cyprus for more than 1 year in the past 3 years;
3. have a degree that in their country gives access to a PhD;
4. have not yet been awarded a doctoral degree.
